Waterloo Aviation Students,

To support the AVIA 100 'Introduction to Aviation' course (Fall 2018) I am seeking about six 2nd/3rd year aviation students who would be willing to serve as volunteer undergraduate teaching assistants (please note this is separate from the TA group supporting ground school courses which Ian organizes). This role would include attending tutorial sessions and serving as a mentor to student groups within AVIA 100.

There will also be graduate student TAs supporting the tutorial sessions, who will be in charge of marking and administrative work. The undergraduate TA role is to be an upper-year student mentor - to answer questions from 1st year students and support the graduate student TA with aviation-specific knowledge.

Estimated time commitment for this volunteer role is about 1.5 hours per week through the Fall term. If you are interested, please get back to me by July 18th with a note expressing why you want to be considered for this role. Please also indicate which tutorial sessions you are available for and rank them based on your preference.

AVIA 100 tutorial sessions will be held:

*         TUT 101 - Monday 12:30-1:20pm

*         TUT 102 - Monday 8:30-9:20am

*         TUT 103 - Monday 8:30-9:20am
With thanks for considering this,

Dr. Suzanne Kearns
