REBEL DIAZ – Coming North!
Reinforce the broad revolutionary front with the sound of Hip Hop and Hard
Together with BSA Waterloo’s own JAGORON rock band, REBEL DIAZ is set to own
Come out to experience a new awakening.
> REBEL DIAZ – a Latino hip hop trio based out of THE BRONX and CHICAGO,
consists of Lah Tere (Teresita Ayala) and brothers RodStarz and G1 (Rodrigo
and Gonzalo Venegas). The group’s brand of political hip hop represents the
consciousness of a young and revitalized Latino-Hispanic community, embodied
by the Nueva canción movement. REBEL DIAZ represents the clenched fist that
unites us all.
In March 2009, Rebel Diaz opened the Rebel Diaz Arts Collective, a community
arts center that includes a performance space, a multimedia studio, a
computer lab, and an art gallery located in an abandoned warehouse in the
> JAGORON (“The Awakening”) – a crowd favourite, the boys will be performing
a tribute to one of the greatest bands ever to take to the stage… RAGE
AGAINST THE MACHINE. The heavy metal rock band consists of members from the
University of Waterloo and Ryerson University, representing the BANGLADESHI
hard rock scene. The group’s musical style is deeply influenced by Western
rebel rock fused with Eastern instrumental smackdowns.

Red Path Society (RPS) and Students for Palestinian Rights (SFPR), in
cooperation with BASICS Community News Service and Barrio Nuevo.
