The Workplace Yoga Program (WYP) was first offered in Spring 2017 after a proposal was put forward to the University of Waterloo Staff Excellence Fund (https://uwaterloo.ca/staff-association/staff-excellence-fund). In 2020, WYP received additional funding (June 2020 - May 2021).

WYP offers no-cost yoga classes to UW staff in different campus locations (currently including youtube streaming) on a week-to-week, first-come-first-served basis.

Participation in on-campus WYP classes is free to all UW staff members (the YouTube streaming is open to all members of the UW Community). You don't have to be a UWSA member to participate, and there's no long-term commitment. Choose a link below for more details about the instructor and signup process!

Until we are back on campus, the information below does not apply. We shall see what the future holds! Perhaps we will have a livestream on the large video monitor in the pitch area during the transition back to campus.

Classes will be held Wednesdays from 12:05 to 12:55 in the Engineering 7 Pitch Space (E7 2334*).

*In any weeks when the Pitch Space is unavailable, yoga may be held in the Event Space (E7 2472).

See below for instructions on how to subscribe (or unsubscribe) from this mailing list.

Once you join the mailing list, you'll receive an invitation to sign up for any remaining classes in the term. If there's a spot in a class that works with your schedule:

• sign up using the link in the invitation email,
• put the class in your calendar,
• remember to bring your yoga clothes & mat on class day, and
• arrive on time & ready for class!

Please Don't Be a No-Show

When you sign up for a class, a spot will be reserved for you; those with repeated no-shows will be removed from future events.

Cancelling

If you can't attend a class you signed up for, please log in to https://www.eventbrite.ca, locate the ticket you'd like to cancel, and cancel it.

Joshua (Kunga) Webster has one main goal in teaching yoga: to provide students with the tools they need to bring more joy, health and happiness into their lives and the lives of those around them. Classes focus on increasing flexibility, reducing stress, toning and revitalizing the whole body through therapeutic and alignment focused poses that are accessible to most bodies. Those working with injuries or problem areas will be given alternative poses if needed. As we practise we will be encouraged to become more mindful of our breath and bodies to help bring us to a place of calm focus and mindful presence.
