Hello everyone!

Midterms are in full swing, but hopefully you're taking breaks and enjoying the weather this month too! In this email:

1. Big CSters Technical Speaking Workshop
2. WiCS-CSC go outside!
3. Sticker submissions
4. Button making

1. Big CSters Technical Speaking Workshop

Level up on your technical speaking skills and get constructive feedback on them in this workshop focussed on helping you become an effective communicator! No experience or preparation is required. You'll be getting into small groups and talking about side projects, coop work, your technical interests, or even something you learned in class that morning!

As always, dinner will be provided (with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free options).
Note: This is a women only event.

2. WiCS-CSC go outside!

WiCS and the CSC are partnering up for a fun, outdoorsy event! Celebrate the end of midterms and join us at a bonfire event this July. Food will be provided.
  • Where: TBA
  • When: Thursday, July 7

3. Sticker submissions

We've had a wonderful sticker submission already! Submissions are still open, so you can submit a sticker idea for WiCS and we'll print and distribute them. It doesn't have to have the WiCS logo on it-- all we ask is that they have a women in technology theme and be inclusive towards the diversity of all women and non-binary individuals. Specifically, we ask that you do not include any faces on the sticker.

4. Button making

In case you missed it in our last email, we're making our next round of WiCS buttons! A huge thank you to those that have volunteered to help out with making them so far. Email us at wics-ugrad@lists.uwaterloo.ca if you'd like to help out making some. You can make as many as you like (we will pair you up with a partner if you sign up). Each button takes around 1-2 minutes to make, so this is a fun, low commitment way to be involved with the committee :)

Good luck with midterms!

If you're interested in volunteering, please email us and let us know so we can add you to our volunteer mailing list!
