Hi Daniel,

I don't know if that quantum-info mailing list is still working (I re-subscribed but haven't received anything since). But if it is, can you advertise these postdoc positions in Ernesto's group?

Thanks a lot!
Cheers
Daniel

Two 24-month postdoc positions in linear-optical quantum computation

Would you like to do theoretical work to guide the development and applications of cutting-edge photonic quantum computers?

The International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, Portugal is seeking two qualified researchers in the fields of theoretical quantum optics/quantum computation, whose work will contribute to the development of near-term, restricted photonic quantum computers. Applications are invited until March 22nd, 2021. The contracts are for 24 months, and may be renewed based on performance and duration of project.

The researchers will work on the theory of characterization, simulation, and applications of state-of-the-art reconfigurable, multi-mode interferometers, within the scope of the EC-funded H2020 PHOQUSING (“Photonics quantum sampling machine”) project.

The selected researchers will be working within INL’s Quantum and Linear-Optical Computation group, led by Ernesto Galvão and with currently about 15 members, among researchers and graduate students. The group is responsible for project workpackages developing theory and simulations to support the concurrent experimental activities of partners: University of Rome La Sapienza (IT); CNR (IT); Sorbonne Univ. (FR), CNRS (FR), and quantum technologies start-ups QuiX BV (NL) and Veriqloud (FR). The group’s research topics include foundations of quantum computation; quantification and uses of quantum non-classicality; experimental tests of multiphoton interference and indistinguishability; and computational applications of integrated photonic chips.

INL offers an attractive work package including family and child allowances; health insurance; support for the education of dependent children; tax benefits; and diplomatic status. For complete information about the positions and the application procedure, please follow the link:
