Subject: Faculty position in quantum information technology at UC Berkeley

Dear Prof. Gottesman,

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) and the Department of Physics at UC Berkeley are conducting an open search to fill one or more tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in Quantum Information Science and Technology (experiment or theory) with an expected start date of July 1, 2020.  The EECS Department is particularly interested in candidates who build technology.  Please circulate this information in your group and wider community.  If there are any particular candidates you can recommend, please do let me know.

Details about the search and how to apply are at this link:  https://eecs.berkeley.edu/faculty-jobs#quantum

Note that while the currently posted application deadline is Dec. 2, this is being extended to Dec. 16.  Please communicate this as well to any potential candidates.

Thanks very much!

Best wishes,

Jeff Bokor
