The Center for Quantum Information and Control (CQuIC) at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque is seeking at least two postdoctoral fellows (PDF) in the groups of Profs. Carlton M. Caves and Ivan H. Deutsch with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Quantum control theory
- Quantum measurement theory and tomography
- Quantum metrology
- Quantum simulation and computation
- Quantum chaos
Candidates are required to have a PhD in physics or related discipline, with a strong background in quantum information theory and/or quantum-optics /atomic-molecular-optical physics. PDFs are expected to work closely with graduate students and participate in CQuIC activities including hosting seminars and visitors.
Applicants should submit applications to cquic@unm.edu. Applications should include a curriculum vitae and a statement of research accomplishments and plans, and the applicant should arrange to have three letters of recommendation submitted to the same e-mail address.
Applications are due September 3, 2012. Applications will continue to be reviewed till all positions are filled.
