Foundations of Quantum Mechanics and Relativistic Spacetime

Annual workshop of Working Group 3 “Quantum Theory Meets Relativity”
In the framework of the COST Action MP1006
“Fundamental Problems in Quantum Physics”
University of Athens, Greece, 25-26 September 2012

Keynote Speakers:
Daniel Bedingham, Lajos Diosi, Beatrix Hiesmayr, Rafael Sorkin, Ward Struyve

Scope: to examine the foundations of quantum theory with an eye on the complications
and issues that arise in relation with relativity and relativistic spacetime.

Topics: relativistic formulations of observer free interpretations of quantum theory;
non-locality; time in quantum theory and quantum gravity; histories
formulations; other foundational questions of quantum theory stemming from
relativistic considerations.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We write to inform you of the forthcoming Workshop "Foundations of Quantum
Mechanics and Relativistic Spacetime
", to be held in Athens (Greece), on the
25th and 26th of September 2012. The workshop is organised in the framework
of the European COST Action MP1006 "Fundamental Problems in Quantum Physics"
(http://www.equantum.eu). It constitutes the annual meeting of the action's 3rd
Working Group "Quantum Theory meets Relativity". The previous year's meeting
was held in London (http://plato.tp.ph.ic.ac.uk/conferences/cost2011/Welcome.html).

We are glad to invite you to participate in this workshop. Submission of contributions
is open until Monday, August 6, 2012. Please follow the registration at the webpage
of the workshop http://plato.tp.ph.ic.ac.uk/conferences/WG3Meeting2012/Welcome.html

There is limited funding (partly covering travel and/or accommodation) for some
selected participants.

A notification of acceptance of contribution and reimbursement will be sent to you, the
latest, on August 15.

Further details on accommodation, travel, programme etc, will gradually appear at
the website  http://plato.tp.ph.ic.ac.uk/conferences/WG3Meeting2012/Welcome.html

Finally, we encourage you to disseminate this information to any colleague who you
