Dear Daniel,

I greatly appreciate if you could circulate this postdoc vacancy at
quantum-info-bounces at lists.uwaterloo.ca

Thank you very much for your kind help.
Best regards, Akimasa

The Center for Quantum Information and Control (https://cquic.unm.edu)
at the University of New Mexico (UNM) invites applications for a
postdoctoral fellow position in theory of quantum computation.
Expertise in computational many-body physics or quantum chemistry is
desirable, as the position is funded by the project of Prof. Miyake
group which aims to apply modern electronic structure theories to
quantum computation and simulation.

Postdoctoral candidates will become part of the broader community of
fellows at CQuIC. CQuIC is located within a new research facility, the
Physics and Astronomy and Interdisciplinary Science (PAÍS) center,
built in Fall 2019. They will have collaborative opportunities with a
nationwide team of NSF STAQ quantum computing project
(https://staq.pratt.duke.edu), which co-designs state-of-the-art
ion-trap quantum computers for practical applications. They also
interact with other CQuIC faculty members, the researchers at nearby
Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, and our
partners at the NSF Q-SEnSE Quantum Leap Challenge Institute and the
DOE Quantum Systems Accelerator.

The initial term of appointment is two years with the possibility of
extension to a third year, with a competitive starting salary plus
benefits and an additional stipend for travel expenses. It is ideal if
the successful candidate could start no later than the beginning of
the year 2022.

Applicants must submit via email a cover letter, a CV (including list
of publications), and a statement of research interests to Prof.
Miyake. Applicants must specify the names and e-mail addresses of
three references, so that Prof. Miyake could request their letters of
recommendation directly. The review of applications will commence
immediately, but applications will be considered until the position is
filled.
