The Department of Physics & Astronomy

for Theoretical Physics at Stony Brook University
(http://insti.physics.sunysb.edu/itp/www/) invite applications for a
tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in theoretical
physics. The early years of this position will be supported by the
Simons Junior Faculty Fellow program, with an anticipated start date
of the 2021-22 academic year.

Applications will be accepted from candidates with experience in all
subfields of theoretical physics, but preference may be given to work
in the areas of quantum information, atomic, molecular and optical
physics, or quantum chromodynamics related to the electron-ion
collider. The successful candidate will have demonstrated research
leadership. Faculty in the Department and Institute are expected to
engage in independently funded research characterized by creativity
and vision, with commitment to the teaching missions of the Institute
and the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
