Postdoc position in quantum photonics

For our new project on single time-bin entangled photon pairs from semiconductor quantum dots in collaboration with the universities of Münster (Germany) and Linz (Austria) we are looking for a postdoc with experience in quantum optics, ideally with semiconductors and sources of nonclassical light. This experience should be documented by a strong publication record.

Innsbruck offers a great and competitive scientific environment in the fields of quantum optics and quantum information. The Photonics Group<https://uibk.ac.at/exphys/photonik> focuses on using photonic integrated circuits and semiconductor nanostructures for quantum optics and quantum communications tasks.

The position is for three years, funded by a grant from the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Your initial contract would be for one year with the possibility of extension to the full three years depending on your performance. The respective collective bargaining agreement stipulates a minimum gross annual salary of € 54453 for full-time employment. Furthermore, the university has numerous attractive benefits<https://www.uibk.ac.at/universitaet/zusatzleistungen/>.

Please send your application<mailto:pho%74oni%63s@%75ib%6B.ac.%61t?subject=Application%20for%20Postdoc%20position> to photonics at uibk.ac.at<mailto:photo%6Ei%63s%40ui%62k.a%63.a%74> as a single pdf document that includes 1) a motivation letter, 2) a concise research statement, 3) your detailed CV, 4) your publication list (ideally with clickable DOI links), and 5) the contact information for at least two references. You do not need to provide reference letters upfront, but if you have them already you are welcome to attach them. The University of Innsbruck is hoping to increase the number of female scientists at all levels therefore we encourage women to apply for this position. Our top priority is excellence in research, but beyond that female candidates will be given preference.

The University of Innsbruck<https://www.uibk.ac.at/universitaet/zusatzleistungen/> was founded in 1669 and is the biggest and most important research and education institution in western Austria, today comprised of almost 27.000 students and more than 4.000 staff and faculty members.
