Hello friends,

If you want a fun way to get involved with outreach and show high school students how cool and fun science can be, consider volunteering for this event. See details below.

Hi all,

Please forward to your club members, as we are certainly looking for some more help with these.

Thanks,

Heather

Hi all,

Each exam period we stock up one of the STC Physics labs with six different stations, and invite high school students in to “discover Physics”. Their favourite spinning Sheldon, plasma balls, levitating train, and holograms will be there, along with a few new investigations. We need your help explaining things, keeping the equipment in working order, and maintaining a learning environment. No, you do not need to be a Physics student (but it does help). To fill this role well, you need to be cool with talking to high school students and good at explaining things clearly and patiently.

All volunteers are required to take the Cryogenics safety course before April 9th (online, maybe 45 minutes), and MUST also show up for a lab training session on April 9th from 1-3pm in STC 3028 (donuts afterwards).

Let me know if you have any questions.

Many thanks,

Heather
