Hello there,

We are a University of Waterloo based mentorship initiative known as
the Waterloo
Women Leading Academia (WWLA) <https://uwaterloo.ca/women-leading-academia/>
and our mission is to empower women in academia to be leaders in their
professional and personal lives. We do so by providing faculty-student and
peer mentorship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate women in
academia as well as skill-based workshops. We are reaching out to share an
upcoming virtual event on communication skills required to deliver
impactful presentations in academic and professional settings as well as
recruiting members for 2021/22 mentorship program



Our upcoming webinar is being sponsored by the Faculty of Environment and
is aimed at helping students (both graduate and undergraduate) as well as
faculty members to present their research using convincing and strategic
communication skills. This webinar is being led by Shari Graydon
<https://informedopinions.org/about/team-2/> from Informed Opinions and
will help participants develop communication skills for academic or
professional presentations. This event is open to everyone, and we hope to
see you there!
