Hello FASSies,

We had a great Winter show - thank you to everyone who participated as well as to everyone who came to see the show and support us! Now it is time to prepare for the FASS Annual General Meeting (AGM). The AGM itself is tentatively scheduled for April 6 or 7 (exact detail to be determined.)

In this e-mail:
 (1) Treasurer Applications
 (2) Constitutional Amendments
 (3) FASS Honour Roll

(1) Treasurer Applications

First things first, we need a new treasurer to help review the financials for the past year and to join the next Board. The treasurer is responsible for:
 - Preparing and presenting a draft budget for the 2019/2020 year (with the help of the Board)
 - Handling expense forms and preparing reimbursement cheques
 - Maintaining a record of FASS financials
and other responsibilities - please see the Constitution Article 4 Section 4.

Applications for treasurer will be accepted until Saturday, March 30th. Anyone interested is encouraged to reach out ASAP, so we can arrange a mutually agreeable time to meet with the Board for a brief interview.

Inquiries and applications should be sent to me (prez@fass.uwaterloo.ca). You are also encouraged to connect with our current treasurer Drini (treasurer@fass.uwaterloo.ca) to learn more about the position.

(2) Constitutional Amendments

The Constitution governs all aspects of how FASS operates. Changes to the constitution are brought forward by the Board and voted on at the AGM. If you would like to propose changes that you believe would benefit FASS, please contact me by Sunday, March 24.

Any changes to be voted on at the AGM will be included in the official AGM announcement and agenda, which will be sent closer to the date of the AGM. See the Constitution Article 6 for details.

(3) FASS Honour Roll

The Honour Roll recognizes people who have made exceptional contributions to FASS:
a) Outstanding or devoted contributions to a single area (technical, acting,
writing, etc.).
b) Involvement in all areas.
c) Assuming jobs that no one else will take (“Riding the FASS railroad”).

If you would like to nominate someone for the Honour Roll, please contact me by Sunday, March 24.

The Board will vote on nominations and announce our selection ahead of the AGM. Uncontested nominations will become official at the AGM. Please see the Principles and Guidelines section 6.1.3 for details.

Sincerely,

Anton Markov
President
