[FASS] We need you! Show Council applications are open. Plus, show venue and auditions

Hello FASSies!

Our winter show is rapidly approaching. We have an excellent script
courtesy of our CSWs, Erynn and Evan. We still need a few creative people
to take on important roles on our Show Council.

Therefore, I’m happy to announce that applications for the roles of
Director, Producer, Tech Director, and Stage Manager are now open. The
deadline for applications for Director and Producer is December 22, 2022.
Applications for Tech Director and Stage Manager will remain open until the
Director has been selected.

In the words of Brent, our Presidential Advisor:

The Director is the creative lead of the team.  They will decide how the
actors move and speak, what the sets and props will look like.  They will
take the script we are writing and make it happen on stage.

The Producer is the person that makes things happen behind the scenes.
They will take on the role of managing promotion of the show to make sure
there is an audience to enjoy it.

Tech Director is the one who takes the Director's vision for the props and
the sets and makes them happen in real life.  Mostly with cardboard.  They
will manage a team of techies building and scavenging for lots of
interesting items.

The Stage Manager has two primary roles.  During the lead up to the show,
the SM is the Director's assistant (not to be confused with Assistant
Directors) :-) They will manage the actors schedules and help with line
reads during rehearsals.  Once the show opens, the SM becomes the person in
charge of the show, making sure everything happens on time each night.

In related news, FASS 2023 will be held in Theatre of the Arts, not in
Humanities Theatre. The Board found that booking Humanities Theatre would
be much more expensive this year than in the past. Therefore, we’ve decided
to reduce costs by returning to Theatre of the Arts. (Did you know that
FASS started out in TofA?) We’re excited to see how our Show Council will
use the space!

Finally, auditions for The Other Side of the Story will likely be January
11, 12, and 13 from 7pm to 10pm, on UW campus. I'll send another email to
confirm these dates and to let you know which rooms they'll be in.
