[Cs-female-staff] Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing

Hello everyone:

This email is going to cs-female faculty, postdocs, and staff.  It is directed to Instructional, Research, and Technical Staff, not Admin Staff (sorry about that!).

WICS has decided this year to fund a faculty or staff member to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in
Computing (GHC) in Portland, Oregon, November 9-12.

for more details on the Conference. It's a great opportunity to
receive mentoring support and to network with other female
computer scientists from around the world. 
WICS has funding from the School of Computer Science, and from Sybase and possibly Google to
support people attending the conference.
It is expected that a sizeable group of students will go, maybe as many as 20. 
However, it seems that no faculty or staff member from uWaterloo has ever attended.

If you would like to be considered for WICS funding, please let me know.

Note that you would be expected to contribute some grant or professional development funds or to see about possible additional support from any travel funds available to you.
You would also be asked, upon your return, to discuss your experiences at GHC with WICS.

science in Toronto, October 21-22,
