Bridges Finland 2016 will feature talks and artworks presenting the latest ideas in mathematics and the arts from experts around the world. The conference includes hands-on workshops, a visual art exhibition, a short movie festival, a music night, a mathematical poetry afternoon, a mathematical theater event, A public day and an excursion.

This year’s music night offers us something really special: the musical duo of mathematician and violin virtuoso Corey Cerovsek together with his Finnish collaborator, the pianist Paavali Jumppanen. Their concert will take place at a beautiful location, as part of the Bridges 2016 Excursion Program:

This year’s art exhibition sets a new record, with more than 160 participating artists. In addition to Bridges’ traditional art exhibit, there will be several other exhibits offered, including a joint exhibit by István Orosz and Lajos Szilassi’s, a solo exhibit by Rinus Roelofs, and an interactive math-art education exhibition and 4Dframe workshop, called Tangram.
